I grew up in New Liskeard, Ontario in a big, rambling, blended family. In my mother and step-father’s house there were many rooms! We were active participants in the life of St. Paul’s United Church, and here, with the backing of strong family examples from the life and work of the church, I discerned my call to ministry. It took a while to get through to me, and while completing my undergraduate B.A. in Medieval Studies and Philosophy at U of T, I began the process of formation for ministry through Emmanuel College at U of T. After a fabulous experience and summer internships in Quebec City and north of Sudbury, I was ordained on May 24, 1987 at St. Paul’s United Church in Sudbury, Ontario by the action of Manitou Conference.
I have served congregations in Quebec, Ontario and Manitoba, and have been blessed by God’s people at every stop in my journey. I have also been blessed to add the titles “wife”, “mother”, “Soccer coach”, “Brown Owl”, “downhill skier”, and many others as well. I enjoy life with my family, as I am being raised by two little girls and a teenage boy.
In the family of God’s people in this place, I am also honoured to serve the Simcoe Presbytery as chair of Pastoral Oversight. Through great collegiality and friendship, the church leaders within the town of Innisfil meet to support one another and to support our community in faith. The Innisfil Ministerial is a small but mighty group!
