Meet the people who are happy to serve you at St. James United Church. It is with the dedication of our staff and volunteers that our church continues to be a welcoming centre in this community.
Patricia James - St. James United Church Designated Lay Minister
For me, it’s helping you find God`s calling in your own life; it’s watching you grow in your faith as you move in your own ministry; it’s supporting you as a member of a congregation that cares for others by sharing time, gifts and talents. It’s about having fun!
I`m excited about engaging the community in the fellowship at St. James United Church; I’m looking forward to planning new outreach activities, and doing pastoral visits along with the team at our church.
My life is rich with experience: I’ve had my share of challenges, successes, failures, hopes, and tests of faith. However, I’ve also found God`s strength, peace and grace in every corner of my world. This trust in God's loving compassion and infinite goodness, as it continues in today’s society, is a cornerstone of my faith. I would be so pleased to share this with you at the church, in your home, or wherever else you need ministry.
I’ve spent over twenty years in various volunteer and leadership roles within the United Church of Canada. I’ve also been the Executive Director, Program Coordinator and a Volunteer at the community day hospice, Matthews House Hospice. I’ve worked with diverse families in the Social Services Sector, and spent years in my own business working with children. It’s been a diverse career, but each position called upon my gifts of compassionate support, counselling, and community involvement– I’m keen to share these with you and our community.
Most of all, I’m excited to be the new Designated Lay Minister at St. James United Church.
“For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Eph. 2:10 NIV
I’m where God has called me!
